These pictures from Playa del Carmen and Merida are from right after I bought my first Leica camera, an M4 with a 50mm summicron rigid. I enjoyed the simplicity of shooting exclusively with Tri-X, a single lens, and no built-in light meter. I had my film developed at a photo store, and they underdeveloped the negatives. To compensate for the thin highlights I had to add lots of contrast, which is why the photos are particularly grainy. I found Merida and Playa del Carmen to be devoid of vibrant color, so black and white captures these cities quite nicely.
